In Kerala Drivers and sweepers earn more than teacher educators


90 percent of B.Ed colleges are in private/self financing sector in Kerala. Only 4 government run colleges and 17 aided colleges where teacher educators have permanent employment and UGC/government salaries. In the rest of the 90% institutions teachers get Rs.10,000 to maximum of Rs.16,000 for the Principal. and all are contract employees
In Kerala a masons daily wage is Rs. 500-600 per day. The government wages of drivers appointed on contract basis is Rs.375 per day. Permanent sweepers with years of experience get more than the teacher educators, the faculty members with M.A/M.Sc an M.Ed with UGC .Doctorate in Education
