26. National Registry of persons eligible and qualified for appointment as Vice Chancellor or head of institution of national importance.- (1) The Commission shall maintain a National Registry of persons eligible and qualified for appointment as Vice Chancellor or head of institution of national importance, prepared by the Collegium from time to time under sub-section (1) of section 20.
(4) No person shall be eligible for appointment as Vice Chancellor of any University or head of an institution of national importance unless his name is included in the National Registry of persons eligible and qualified for appointment as Vice Chancellor or head of institution of national importance maintained by the Commission under subsection (1).
